"Now she can do anything he can do... with Lionel's  new exclusive train set for Girls!" ♥

In 1957 The Lionel Company thought it would be a good idea to produce a Girls model Train set to increase their customer base to include girls rather than just boys. Sadly the venture was a huge commercial failure, the train set neither catching on with the intended demographic ..and being rejected outright, by boys on the basis of its colour.

Today the set, on account of its failure, is a highly sought after collectors item ♥

Way ahead of it's time. Lush! ♥

I still remember the first time I listened to this Masterpiece of a album by Mexican electronic recording artist Murcof.
I was on my own, working on a piece of digital artwork on the computer in the early hours, during the cold dark winter months.

Listening to the track 'Oort' for the first time through headphones, under these conditions is an experience I won't ever forget : O Hehe.  ♥

The Think Tank? - Newcastle

Last week, myself and the graffiti artist Inch were commissioned by 'The Think Tank?' (a new venture by the people behind well known indie clubnight Stonelove) to decorate their new venue space (formely Studio OneThirty3) in Hoults Yard Newcastle.
We were given full creative autonomy to come up with something exciting and fresh in the main performance room. The preparation for the project also involved painting over the mysteriously (defaced) remnants of Ben Eine's work from the final show at OneThirty3 in september. These photographs show the work that was undertaken over the course of 4 days.

'This is not Brick Lane'

The Australian Street Artist Anthony Lister was in Newcastle this week, for his 'Unslung Heroes' show at Lazarides gallery. Expectedly, as well as the show he created a number of his characteristic street art expressionist creations in various locations across the city.

In two of these locations, it would appear Lister made the faux pass of 'going over' the work of two local Graffiti artists. One of which happened to be veritable North East Graffiti legend Inch, where a decidedly Hitler-esque looking character was added to a 'inchs' piece at a Writers Hall of Fame. The other was by Shadee of infamous crew Figs at a long occupied spot above a Barbershop. Needless to say, both writers responded to the percieved effrontery, accordingly.
