Paleolithic'Venus figurines' are some of the oldest known forms of Art. The figurines are mostly found in Europe, but have been discovered as far away as Siberia. Their function and purpose is not altogether understood, but they are generally thought to be symbols of fertility or representations of a female Mother Goddess. These decidedly 'modernist' looking, fecund female sculptures, characteristically feature exaggerated abdomens, hips, breasts, thighs and vulva. Over a hundred such figurines are known, virtually all of relatively modest size, between 4 cm and 25 cm in height.

Interestingly the USA/European SNES version of this video game was censored, with the removal of Occult Symbols, namely 'Pentagram's' featured in the background artwork . Also a brief scene involving the torture of the protagonist (Very tame by today's standards, but seemingly too shocking for 1992) featured in the game's Intro was also omitted (7.)
